High-resolution magnetics over a Murchison gold project
| Location | Murchison, WA |
|---|---|
| Area | 10 km² |
| Services | Drone magnetic survey |
An explorer needed detailed magnetics over a 10 square kilometre gold project in the Murchison to refine drill targeting. Regional government coverage existed but at a line spacing that smoothed over the structural detail that mattered.
What we flew. Traverse lines at 25 m spacing with tie lines, QuSpin QTFM Gen-2 in towed-bird configuration at a sensor height of 25 m above ground, terrain-draped, with a proton precession base station recording on site for the duration of the survey.
Processing. Diurnal correction against the on-site base, heading error correction, IGRF removal, tie-line levelling and microlevelling, then RTP and first vertical derivative grids for interpretation. Every step documented in the survey report.
Deliverables. Geosoft GRD grids, GeoTIFFs and georeferenced PDF maps in GDA2020, with line data and a data dictionary. Delivered ready to load into the client’s interpretation workflow.
